Look on the bright side, moving it to January means you will (hopefully) get James back at 100% and you never know, they might get into a rehearsal room and learn some real deep cuts and surprise you all...shame, I hope Strictly isn't cancelled - anyone for Nicky doing the future has been here 4 ever solo?

Blackwood gig cancelled

Hi all
we've had confirmation from Radio 2 that this week's Blackwood gig is now off.
Full details: http://bit.ly/eEnWEd

Thanks, and sorry to be the bearer of bad news
James

I'm not too upset about this, obviously disappointed about not seeing the band sooner than I was supposed to see them. I also agree that the rest of the UK tour should have been cancelled to allow for James to get 100% rest.

oh quitting smoking is an awfully hard thing, my auntie was quitting at least 5 times, finally few weeks ago she got pneumonia (she's fine now) and got scared it's because of smoking and quitted, hopefully for good.
my dad hasn't been smoking for 10 years and my mum for about 4-5 years, we're now cigarette-free family ha!

once again i feel sorry for all people and for the Manics. let's blame the winter.

Of course, they'll do bloody Come Dancing, in that vain, desperate hope for some mainstream approval from an indifferent public. Meanwhile, the fans get dumped on, again. Poor.

It's more like this is the winter of Manics' fans discontent.

The Manic Street Preachers have very reluctantly been forced to cancel two radio shows scheduled for this week due to vocalist James Dean Bradfield being diagnosed with laryngitis. The band had to postpone several dates on their recent UK tour for the same reason on doctor’s orders, however he did recover sufficiently in order to finish the tour in Carlisle. The band have just completed a trip to Australia and Japan and James has been advised to rest in order to not prolong the illness or cause permanent damage. Both shows will be rescheduled for as soon as possible once James has recovered, check www.manics.co.uk for further details.

The shows were due to take place tonight in London for Absolute Radio and a hometown date in Blackwood, Wales on Thursday (2nd December) for Radio 2, both would have had an invited audience of competition winners and the band would like to sincerely apologise for anybody planning to come to either performance. The band commented “As our fans know, we absolutely hate cancelling shows, and we are devastated that we have had to do this – we can only say sorry and hope we can make it up to people when James is well again.”
