Even if they announced dates in Dublin, Cork and Belfast (or wherever) between the 24th-28th tomorrow that wouldn't really be enough notice to get money together and travel/accomodation if applicable. At least for me anyway. So I kinda hope they don't, no offence to anyone with a decent disposable income who lives right next to a venue

Yep. Not nearly enough notice considering how far in advance gigs are announced these days. I doubt they will play any proper gigs in Ireland this time round. They will probably play Oxegen or Electric Picnic next year instead. That's no good, unless you're not already going to one of them, as both are a complete rip off.
Best hope is that they will do another UK next year and ad Irish gigs on to it. |

Dave Fanning said this evening that 2fm would be carrying a lot of the Guinness stuff live so fingers crossed.

I still think it's bizarre they didn't get a headline spot in another venue considering the amount of mediocre bands playing this Guinness event and because they're not playing here during the tour. It's probably a nice pay day for the band though. Plus the Guinness will be first class at it! I'd imagine the manics will head back to the Westbury after they're set and not stick around for the 'main event'.

They may be announcing another (shit) band for this so keep an eye on Monday or Tuesday for a few more tickets. Long shot but you never know.
I'm going to be working at this so if nobody else is there and it's not on the radio I'll try to post some updates. |

oh lordy, its Westlife added to James Gate bill..
I hope the Wire rips em to shreds. Looks like its FLApes and Polar gig in Sinnotts for me on Marthas Day. Hope the Manics are special guests. Enjoy the gig Daz ^^^

I didn't realise the Manics were playing a secret pub gig after the St James' Gate thing with Snow Patrol. Keep yer ear to the ground Dublin people! In the article I posted in the Magazine appearances thread, it's nice to see Wire admit the Guinness gig was just done for the money also haha.
