It's not a classic, is it? Reminds me of Coldplay's Yellow, only without the satisfaction of seeing Chris Martin looking wet and miserable.

Anyway, I actually find the video quite decent, considering I was expecting something much cheesier! And it features Cardiff Bay, one of my favourite places in the UK

I think this would have been massively improved if it was simply cut with some performance footage. I don't know, just cut some parts out of the YLAINE video and edit them in to break it up a bit...right now it's "here's a grey street, here's a grey street, here's Ian McCulloch but he's got his hood up and his sunglasses on so it might as well just be anyone, oh look, here's another grey street"
Not a terrible video, just a bit meh |

considering they are releasing it in December, would it have been too much to fucking ask of them to do some intelligent marketing, like "re-create" the Fairytale Of New York video or something?
surprised Sony didn't make them stick Sean in a fucking Santa outfit in it somewhere...... ...yes, Nicky could have been an elf.

Lame!
But I fear I only vaguely like the song through familiarity anyway. |

i liked it. It didnt distract from the song. It won't pull in the young-uns who'll just look at it and shrug probably but who cares really? If its going to flop it won't be the video's fault. My favourite bit was when they met up on the steps and looked like they were off to do a drug deal or something lol
oh ok i liked it cos James gets lots of screen time...there i said it |

If they'd done something totally off the wall you'd all still be bloody moaning! 'It's boooooooooooooooooorrrrrriiiinnngggggg!!!'. Like taking a bunch of seven year olds to a museum or something!

I don't normally moan. But there's no way you can say that video was not boring, unimaginative and simply... ... boring.

OK lets find some positive things about the video.
Nice building 'beauty doing nothing at all' I loved the idea that it was like an ancient Rome ruin of which I visited in 2008. But for me 'Advertising Space' by Robbie Williams gets the message home better. |

Kids! Well I've added my piece to all the comments on The Guardians page. I love scenery, moody melancholia etc. It's what drew me to Truth when I first became a fan!
