I've never been to a Manics signing personally, only other bands. Take what you want to be signed (within reason - ie don't take the piss and take your entire Manics collection with you).

I have never been to a signing where the new album/single only thing has been rigidly enforced, and when it has, I have been a dick about it and demanded they sign some old stuff and every band, without fail, has. Seriously, how hard is it to write on something? Any band that doesn't are arseholes.

I was at the HMV signing for National Treasures in Manchester. I took all the albums and tentatively asked Sean if they'd do the lot. He was really obliging and said yeah but the security interjected and told him no. Sean looked really sheepish. I waited around after and asked a more approachable security guard if I could go back in after it was finished and get the rest signed. He said he'd ask the band and they were fine with it. Sean actually seemed chuffed I'd managed to get back in to do it and they were all really nice about it.

I went to that one too and as I recall, for the most part they were fine with having others signed, although I just had National Treasures signed.

Woo hoo! I'm going!

What's the typical format? get there for store opening?

Maybe a dumb question but is your 'queing space' held while your purchase the ablum?

On another note, I've just joined the forum, off to the 'intro' posts now...

From what I have been reading through the NME and HMV, it seems that the signing begins at 5:30pm. Is that right? I had been planning on arriving early morning, is this worth it or afternoon better?

If anyone has plans before the signing and don't mind me tagging along, let me know!

John
