Really looking forward to reading this, my copy’s still not arrived yet, but still hoping it’ll drop any day....

And it's too late to get my money back!
Whoever "wrote" the piece for Rewind The Film. You didn't only not mention the album or a single song from it, you just gave us this shit soap opera bullshit between you and your "other half".
I'll read from the start, hopefully you hired people who can write about music. Which is what many people would expect from a book subtitled "Album By Album".
Still it makes a good drum sound. Good acoustics tapping fingers on it. But if I wanted percussion etc.
"Oh by the way, we got endorsed by The Anchoress enough to put four lines about her on the back of the book."

I'll read it properly tomorrow. But from initial feelings, it's not the "Revolutions In The Head" style book about the Manics you'd think it would be. With "Manic Street Preachers Album By Album" at the top of the page. For another £5 I could have indulged in black market economics and walked on the streets less guiltily.

amay, I imagine your contribution will be the best thing in it! Looking forward to figuring it out. But thank you for not being Marc Burrows.

Damn, sounds lame. Glad I didn't waste £20 on it and have just finished today the Record Collector magazine which covers all albums minus soap operas, which is a great thing to have despite the many typos in it and odd error.

oh no, not liking the early reviews on here, mine is still yet to arrive, so I cannot comment. I had really been looking forward to it arriving and being able have a read (which I'll still obviously do). Just somehow not quite as excited as I was now. But still - these things usually are a disappointment, so if expectations are low then perhaps I may be pleasantly surprised.... we shall see...

Hahahaha! I've not met the "minimum requirements" to be able to leave an Amazon review.
I was going to leave two stars for the Diary segments.
The rest is opinion passed over as fact. With technical previous Manic books "consulted".
And in a few months time it'll be bottom tier level.
Revolution In The Head may contain inaccuracies. But at least you get an impression of what instruments were used. If lucky, even get something on what the responses were to certain songs.
An album by album book about the Manics more or less writes itself.
It's in the name!
I should have got the Record Collector. I'll take typos over tedious references to relationships that have nothing to do with the album.

If any of you are friends with Simon Price. Beg him to finish his sequel to Everything.
All these years later and it's still the benchmark of Manics books. All these years later.

What they said, my Amazon account hasn't met the minimum requirements.
Translation: Even though I've had no problems leaving reviews before, it might be because I've removed my card details from them.
One idea what it's about anyway.

Record Collector Magazine is still available on their site (well worth it in my opinion):

Mine arrived today along with the fanzine and badges, it 'looks' very good to be fair, but I've only had a quick flick through, and read the first half dozen pages, so we shall see...

I will say that it is nice to have a book that is right up to the present.
