Going to see them in Blackburn was probably the highlight of my year - I loved it!
And of course there was Nicky's appearance on Something For the Weekend, one of the funniest things I've seen on TV in a while.

Hoping to be able to see them again in 2011, I can't believe I hadn't even really thought of listening to them before this year.
As another person said, yay, new Manics fans coming in all the time Very cool. I guess it's the same with lots of artists though, over time you want to expand your music tastes and knowledge and try new artists

Becoming a proper fan I guess - I only really started getting into them seriously in the tail end of 2009.
The new album/singles etc,as it was the first time I'd been around for all the anticipation surrounding it.
The gig in Birmingham - it took a while to get there but it was so worth the wait and now I just want to go and see them again soon!
Meeting lots of wonderful people through the fan community,who will hopefully be friends for the forseeable future.
Oh,and Nicky on SFTW was the funniest thing I've ever seen on a Sunday morning

That was Sam and Sam actually...

A few random 2010 moments...erm...

-The overnight hellbus/train from Cambridge to Carlisle
-Getting my sailor suit signed and complimented by a few
-James being the loveliest man that ever lived and finally getting something signed with my name on it
-Hallowe'en was so much fun
-Wire destroying Saturday morning telly
-Totally pointless Birmingham queue and having an unexpected night off.
-Carlisle: party town

* Nicky - the greatest man in the world
* meeting Nicky, I adore him so much!
* both gigs I participated - Glasgow and Leeds (but Glasgow more)
* finding out Michael Sheen would appear in their video
* the song Postcards From A Young Man
* receiving Manics emails
* meeting so many wonderful people, especially Lynsey, Richey, Franny, Kevin and others who I met at London meet-ups or on the pavement while waiting to the boys
* brilliant new pics
* Nicky's hair and new clothes

This was the year I too became a proper fan of the band, in fact the latter six months of 2010 was all about the Manics for me! After buying the tickets back in June to see them for the first time at Edinburgh, I bought all the albums which were missing from our CD collection and started listening avidly to their back catalogue, and loving what I heard (and wishing I had got into them earlier!). I got PFAYM as soon as it was released and then started collecting the B-sides from the album. I was so blown away with them at the Edinburgh gig that I just had to see them again and decided to get tickets for the rescheduled Carlisle gig a month later - by then I had fallen in love with the band to the extent that I'd say I'm now an obsessive fan! I've also loved all the recent TV and radio coverage and am really looking forward to seeing them play live again (hopefully in May!).

So yep it's been quite a whirlwind romance with the band this year for me, and long may the relationship continue!
