PFAYM was announced on Radio 2 (I think) as the 2nd single at one point a couple of months ago (don't forget that video on the official site) but since it's disappeared from the set I have no idea what they want to do with it. GP has been a mainstay in the set from the third or fourth show from the main tour so it's a distinct possibility as well. But yeah, GP and PFAYM, double A-side, please as I've said a few times over the last few days.

Otherwise I wouldn't mind Hazelton Avenue at all but it's too similar to that Kravitz song.

Golden Platitudes is the only stand out track that won't get lost in the other singles being released that week.

I guess if there IS one it should be Postcards. I'd personally pick Balconies to show off a bit of a different side to promote the album and show they can still rock, you know? As for talk of Golden Platitudes as a single, me and my brother joked before SKON was announced as 2nd single that they'd probably pick this as a single (cos we both think it's so drab and doesn't keep any interest at all and watching crowds at live takes of this song...well, I don't need to say a word).
Maybe just release a single purely for radio stations and music channels to play and not make it a physical release or anything, release it simply as an album promoter (cos let's face it, a 3 format deal again costs money and after SKON became their lowest charting single since 1991...well, what's the real point anymore? )

Skon was a rubbish single choice. I think Golden Platitudes would do quite well actually...postcards sounds like classic manics which maybe won't draw new people in, hazelton avenue, just no.

I think get GP on radio a bit and they could do ok.

I'd rather they released a post-Postacrds EP with any other songs they recorded during these sessions than have another chart flop. Golden Platitudes is nice enough but a single? Not a chance. Maybe in the late 90s but not nowadays.

Even better. I don't care how they're released, I just want as many songs out of them as possible. 'The Postcards Sessions' EP of 5-6 tracks would be brilliant.

Absolutely. People don't want to hear songs about New Labour betrayal, they want songs about now. Whilst GP is a more sedate companion piece to Socialist Serenade they really missed an opportunity to rip into the current politics.

I'd be pleased if they released 'Billion Balconies...'.

In any case, more b-sides!

It's either Hazleton Avenue or Golden Platitudes. GP is kinda dated sounding, is a bit too late 1990s. But a decent video, with David Cameron and Nick Clegg impersonators having a snog (or some other well known politicians being bed-fellows) may attract some attention and ultimately airplay.

I don't think it will be obvious to the single-buying public what it's about; it has a good melody that's all.

I did'nt know it was about polictics until someone mentioned it above, I think GP is a plodding MOR track which would fail as a single, if there is one it should be Postcards.
