Pretty sure I'm going to love this one. It's got shades of Lifeblood and Postcards b-sides.

Sounds like some right footstomping party numbers, that. In the Postcards/Resistance sort of mould?

from the "walking through the apocalypse" track at 01:30 and the "don't let those boys from Eton suggest that we are beaten" track around 02:30, i'm getting more of a Liverpool Revisited / 30 Year War feel for these songs.

personally i'd love it if all that fluorescent lighting buzz and echoy reverb effects make up part of the album, but i'm not holding my breath!

Lets change the thread title....

This sounds very anti government/abba-esque.

I have a feeling it's going to be an utter triumph.

Hopefully pre-order and tour announcement tomorrow

After reading Twitter’s suggestions, I’m changing my guest singer verdict to Sunflower Bean.

Just had the most agonising hour waiting for meetings to end so I could watch the trailer! First impression - there actually is an ABBAesque sound to some of those choruses!

Also - after all these years, and lately wondering how long the band have left in them, there's something so wonderful about hearing James sing 'is this the beginning?'

Why is September so far away?

Interesting. I knew the other male vocal sounded familiar but couldn't quite place it! Roll on September I guess.

Exactly my feelings mate. I was hoping for Lifeblood with an edge but I don’t think that’s what we’re getting. Still looking forward to hearing it though, always prepared to give the boys a chance.

I remember how badly I got it wrong by trying to extrapolate Even in Exile from "There'll Come a War".

Give it time
