I don't personally think feminism is relevant today, it's an outdated value that's no longer practical in relation to equal rights, though its rise was important to the history of equality.

Isn't this song really a song of empathy rather than a political statement?

Sorry that that's all I can provide now, but it's simply untrue.

Feminism is still relevant, men still dominate the world when women have the better ideas, we dont so much need feminism as demasculism.

Feminism is not the supremacy of one sex over the other. Those who support the supremacy of women over men are not the majority of feminists.

yea i know there's lots of different branches to feminism but when you laughed at river boy's comment and franny's generalisation that women have better ideas than men( probably not intended but sounded like a sweeping statement) i'd thought i'd highlight that his post wasnt trash

I realise his intention, but it comes with the implication that fighting for equality isn't necessary, even if that's not what he meant. And I do acknowledge that feminism has come a long way, as well as I can see how women who are more well off think they need it less. But it's still about the very simple right not to be discriminated against because of gender, I don't see how we can NOT need it.

Why doesn't it work?

A man can be committed to the feminist cause, just like a non-Gurkha can be committed to the Gurkha cause.
