Who can get a 50 year old 15 stone short asthmatic woman with a wonky hip pogoing and headbanging? Why, the Manics can, with a little help from a packet of painkillers.

TIHOE live actually gave me faith in humanity, not one person near me started talking to their mate or headed to the bar.

I think it only sank in half way through THB that I was seeing them as a three piece, everything was just so big.

Dreaming a City was amazing.

It was really wonderful just witnessing all the news, photos and bits of footage coming in from this last night - can't wait to actually experience it tomorrow ^_^

The Intense Humming of Evil was the highlight for me.. no one moshed or danced or anything, it was so still, just the song. Quite an experience.

I'm actually considering just for this one gig to leave after the first half, to experience what it is about and leave it there. There will be other gigs to see random setlists.

When I went to see the JAMC play Psychocandy a couple of weeks ago they did 7/8 songs from their other repertoire first, had a short break then came back on to do the whole album. It sounds like this might have been another occasion where this approach would've worked.

Still overly excited for Thursday though.

Primal Scream did that with Screamadelica. I think it worked really well, then again I saw The Wedding Present play one of their albums a few weeks back and they did the album first then a hits/curios set. Except they didn't break (also have the same no encore rule as the Manics too). Cant judge as haven't been to these HB shows yet, but on JFPL I definitely felt the album should've come second.

Really hope they don't drop 1985 Donkeys or (most importantly) Dreaming A City just because the audience didn't know them.
