Sounds a bit like the ending to Richard really, a massive ramble.

Poor Richey, too 4REAL to ever do Butlins.

There really is no excuse for making such glaring mistakes in a book of this nature. To go to the effort of writing a biography having not even done basic research is unforgiveable. This is an embarassment to the world of publishing and the author should be ashamed.

Strong words but I agree, I always finish books so I'm going to push through but I'm pretty sure I'll know it all, he adds little new and basically just references interviews he's copied from all the way through and adds irrelevant background stuff, I don't think he's really a fan at all and it shows in his sloppiness. It's a shame as it's been the only book about them for ages and it's so dire.

What's an "Eskimo role"?

No opinion either way on this book. I've given up on Manics bios as it's become quite clear, if you have Everything, despite it being fairly out of date, you pretty much dont need another bio on the band - Price's numerous mistakes and all.

I presume he's refering to something like kayaking? But I couldn't imagine Richey doing that to be honest!

Spot on, a recovery role if you go upside down in water.

It's all true. I asked Richey myself in my previous life as Tracey Lords.

Yes, she may still be alive, but she's dead inside.

Nah, they mispelt my name on the first few role cards.

My porn career took off after my mispelled name.

Loan it out from a library and have a chuckle at it, not worth looking at it seriously as it's just a fan fiction someone was fortunately paid to write.

I disagree, read Richard and treat it as fiction, strictly as fiction and it's good. Don't read Nailed.

hmm...hmmm! So much confusion.

Franny, I was thinking along the same lines as you treat it as fiction, but what if I get sucked in'?!

ok, I am going to admit it. So far I have really liked the book especially the early years. I have read every book and article and seen most interviews possible and so far I haven't found the glaring lies yet. I haven't read all the pages of this thread before but please let me know what the glaring lies are so I don't feel more like an idiot for actually liking this book. Or maybe I just like anything about the manics. But like I said so far I have really enjoyed it. Let the insults begin

There's just nothing new to it that hasn't already been covered, the idea was a new and updated version of the Manics' story but he doesn't cover the later years very well at all, just goes on about Richey which we've all seen before.

I'm reading 'Richard' and I'm getting through it very quickly. It's kinda morbid and all that, but captivating. Better than Nailed To History, even though they're two different types of books.
