I have found some lies and omissions and the glossing over of the groupies but still find it a pretty enjoyable read and I have found some quotes that I had never read before (and I find myself pretty well read on the manics). I also like that Sean is quoted more often than in other things I have read. Yes, Everything is the best book so far of the manics though it needs to be updated and work in the latest years. I still have really enjoyed NTH a great deal.
One question I do have that is not mentioned in this book but in several other books such as Everything and other articles is why is James so mad when Richey loses his virginity? I can't wrap my mind around why this would be such a big deal especially in light of his many trysts with groupies later. Anyone have any idea? |

Wasn't it because Richey was drunk at the time and James felt he had been taken advantage of or something? I might be getting the wrong end of the stick of course!

I guess that makes sense. I just seemed like he was pretty angry and maybe didn't want it to happen that way? (drunk and taken advantage of). But weren't they all doing that kind of thing during that time except maybe Sean?

Posted my review of the book over here, I was quite pleased with it in the end although an index + pictures from beyond 2001 would've been a great bonus: http://www.afutureinnoise.com/2011/0...by-martin.html
