Bah bah bah.
i'd say the drop comes with autumnsong. Have a bit of a love/hate thing going on with YLAINE.. most of the time i think its grrrrrrrreeaattt and others i think *meh* and skip it

Agreed on both counts. I have to say I really disliked YLAINE as a song before I really thought about it as a concept, then I gave it another listen and loved it. Sometimes the chorus still grates on me though, and I have to skip it.

Boxes and Lists would have been a better single than YLAINE

For me the most dramatic drop is Robeson. That one's just really bland while YLAINE is at least meaningfully poppy.

YLAINE was the first one I heard so I have a massive soft spot for it, but it's not brilliant.

There By The Grace Of God is a triumph.

And the random CD I found shoved into the Manics section in Birkenhead's HMV today is... JETHRO TULL THE COLLECTION. If I had the cash (it'll probably be gone by tomorrow) today I would of bought it myself.
But I wonder what the significance is? Does the person who put it there think Jethro Tull are more 4 Real? Was it placed there by a mentally ill person?
Or is it a private joke that us lower mortals are shut out of?
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE YOUR "JETHRO TULL IN THE MANICS CD SECTION" JOKE WITH THE REST OF THE CLASS? *end Headmaster role.

YLAINE is so difficult for me to define. I think it's their most bland single, their cheesiest, their most desperate. It's just a paint by numbers song. That said, it's why they're here now, it's why I started investigated them, cos I'd heard they used to be better than they were

YLAINE...you are the audio equivalent of a lump of turd on a clean white marble floor in this CD. I wish they'd released some JFPL as singles now to balance out this latter dross.....
