I had a dream last night that the band had unexpectedly dropped a new, brutally political, metal/punk album entitled The Geometry Of Contempt. One of those vivid dreams where you can actually hear the songs though you can't remember a single note or word upon waking. Shame it was just a dream.

I'm trying to remember if there was a live TV performance and James was having trouble with his clean and distortion sounds. I am thinking that it was Kevin Carter or Tsunami or You Stole the Sun but I can't remember. I'm pretty sure that it was on TFI Friday. I can't find the video on YouTube though.

EDIT: Edit to say that I just found it - it was another appearance doing Kevin Carter in the summer of 1996. I knew I wasn't imagining it!

Can you link to the video of it?

Another I can remember was This is Yesterday at Glastonbury in (I think) 2003 where the off-stage guy activated the wrong pedal and James stopped playing and gave a "no" head shake
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=875WXKm3Ns0&t=43s
He seems to give an 'up' gesture before this which probably refers to volume in monitors, which seems to get misinterpreted as "turn on overdrive"

Yeah it was that one. I also enjoy the heavily edited Australia on TFI Friday around that time as well.

Trying to think if there is a band that was on TFI Friday more than the Manics.

They did all the EMG and TIMT singles on there. I think they did some of them twice (KC definitely twice).

Thanks for that.

Imagine opening up live for TFI and being failed by a 50p cable or similar. Handled like pros though, I doubt most people noticed

Apparently Myakovaky street in Odessa has been renamed Boris Johnson Street. Will the Manics follow suit?

Not sure where to put this, but in case you're interested The The on how they wrote This is the Day. No mention of the Manics but thoughts someone might be interested....

I have a flawless record on Manics Heardle but today was the first time I recognised the song but couldn’t remember the name so had to look up the tracklist of the thingy it appears on.

Is that cheating?
