It was tres good and a birrova triumph (reprise).

PMSL at Nicky talking about their ex-manager at the Little Theatre gig "riot" checking the beer can missiles to see if they still had any booze left in 'em ("ooh! glug glug glug!").

Also now hyper-intrigued as to next chapter / reinvention.

I just watched it on the red buton. I love this band. Nicky and James are a brilliant double act.

Just finished watching too. Good choice of songs and some great banter. They really are hilarious in their own understated way.

Shame on you two! Postcards is ace forever!

Aye, how The Times could ever describe them as 'humourless' is beyond me. They always make me laugh and have a good chuckle!

They'd work well in a 'Two Ronnies' style sketch show... imagine the Christmas specials!

That was awesome! I nearly didn't watch it cos it was on late and I was worried I'd be too excited to sleep (sadly, yes...). But it was ok. I nodded off happily.

I just don't understand why programmes like this aren't shown on the main BBC channel (ie. across all of them, regardless of region). Surely a band like the Manics has an appeal that goes beyond Wales? What on earth did they have on instead that could be more awesome? (that dreadful Bedlam thing was on one of the other channels - the only good thing about it is dear old Rita Tushingham). It's like when there was a Divine Comedy/Neil Hannon documentary on the Northern Ireland BBC channel. I was so bloody relieved to have umpteen million channels on Sky otherwise there would've been tears.

Exactly. The population of Wales is about 3 million. The combined population of England and Scotland is over 55 billion. There are probably more Manics fans in England and Scotland than there are in Wales. Treating a band as big as the Manics as if they're a minority interest is stupid and patronising.

Still, at least it's on iPlayer.

The program is being shown on BBC HD on the 26th. BBC Wales produced the program and the gig and as such have the discretion to show it on their own channel early should they wish. Don't panic!

(55 billion?? I wondered why it suddenly felt rather cramped in here!)

Is it actually going to be on non-regional BBC at any point, or just HD? (My telly cost £30 so there's no point at all in getting HD is there!).

You have to wonder really - if Blur did something similar and played at Colchester Arts Centre, would it just be shown on BBC East Anglia or whatever the chuff it is? Or because it's 50 minutes from London on the train, would it count as a candidate for media saturation? Or Oasis playing in a bus stop in Burnage? Just on BBC t'North (or whatever it's called).

Oh here we are, BBC London had this on instead of the Manics:
#
Mrs Brown's Boys
The Mammy
1 month left to watch
1/6. Agnes attempts to mend the rift between her son and his long-term girlfriend.

Well, it seemed to feature a man in drag... practically the same thing....
