So there are actually in practice four 'b-sides': Holding Patterns, Mirror Gaze, Concrete Fields and A Soundtrack To Complete Withdrawal, with the Bluer Skies Version of International Blue as a place filler.

So Holding Patterns didn't get renamed/shelved! Interesting to see how that turns out

What is the history of this song? I have some distant inkling of a memory of hearing about it from somewhere...

What is the best way to get ahold of this as a non-Japanese speaker? How much do these versions cost?

Cheers!

Mentioned in this Simon Price article back in 2016 : http://thequietus.com/articles/20332...ew-simon-price

"James has played me one track that does sound great, which is called 'Holding Patterns', but other than that, this was meant to be our summer off"

Looks to be about 33 pounds, and somewhere like cdjapan is usually a good bet. Japanese releases are expensive but usually lovely.

Fingers crossed these getting a digital release or something in the west. The band's been good about supplying their Japanese bonus tracks to the rest of the world after Lifeblood, but given the complete lack of single packages this time I'm a little concerned.

Yeah, I expect the bonus tracks will turn up on (legit) download sites before too long.

As I always point out when people start asking about importing, beware of getting hit by the extra VAT and handling fees if you are thinking of importing to the UK (and many other countries). Amazon.co.jp offer a pre-paid option that avoids nasty surprises later, though they don’t have the 2-disc RIF when I looked the other day (they are selling the standard 1-disc with bonus tracks). But that £33 from CD Japan could be more like £50 before you know it with the extra bits and pieces.

Yeah, I don't really get that shit. Alright, I understand that the government would rather us keep our money in the country although they're perfectly happy for themselves and business leaders to hide their money abroad... But yeah, if you can buy summat that's readily available here, that you can pay VAT on, it's understandable that the government would want to disuade people from buying the same thing from abroad. But this isn't readily available here and it won't be..

Just baffles me that's all, we've got Philip Hammond, Liam Frost and Boris Johnson giving it all this about how we're going to be swimming in post-Brexit trade deals, while essentially penalising customers in this way. Alright, this isn't even a drop in the ocean but I won't get me hopes up about any bigger deals.

Okay, so anyone hear these? What do you think? What are they like?

Anything would be nice... I hear there's a clip of Mirror Gaze up somewhere?
