I don't even like Leeds but I hear alright things about the arena, and it's a city I've yet to see them in.

I'm surprised they're playing the arena, but should still be good!

Never been to this venue. Is it your typical gig shed?

I've never been either, it's not been open that long though. But my previous experience at the MEN in Manchester has kind of made me dubious about arenas, especially if it's a band like the Manics who are much better suited to smaller venues. But I could be wrong, and I have no reason to believe it won't still be a brilliant night!

I don't think it is, it's a purpose built concert venue rather than a sports arena.
I'm going there in about two hours to see Depeche Mode, I'll take some pics and let you all know what it's like!

Booked my ticket. Should be a good venue, Bruce Springsteen played there earlier this year. apparently he wanted to try out the venue before it officially opened.

Well, it is big! I think it holds about 14500, and the top tier wasn't all open at last night's Depeche Mode gig - we were half way up and had an excellent view of the stage and the screens. I wouldn't really want to be in the top tier though.
The sound was really good too. Overall I was impressed.

That's awesome they are playing such a big venue. Was Depeche Mode not sold out then?
Kinda wish they were playing something bigger (and better) than Brixton in London. Seen them there many times before. And they will do 2 dates anyway so they could have done somewhere differrent. The o2 again would have been amazing!!! I was away travelling in Australia when they played there in 2011 :-( |
