12/10/10 - Assembly Rooms, Derby
I'm going to this gig but judging by the roll call thread it looks like a lot of FDers may not make the trip to Derby?

I hope this isn't the case.................! So who is actually going?

Me and my other half (who goes by the name of PCD79 when he's occasionally on here!) Even though it's only ten miles down the road, we're staying in a hotel as I can't be bothered to drive.

Meee!!! I'm going!! But although I live in Derby, I'm driving 40miles back to Buxton for a 9am lecture the next day! Can't say I'm looking forward to that!

Me too. Not the greatest venue in the world but they're not doing Nottingham so it'll do

It was either Sheffield or Derby for me and though I'd prefer in many ways to spend my money in my own County the venue is no good.

Can anyone give me directions from the A52 Borrowash Bypass please, should I follow signs to the cathedral? I have seen the Manics here once before, but got lost both going and coming from the venue ( I don't know Derby at all). Looked at google maps, but still don't know which is the best way.
Help please !!

take the city centre left filter lane(s) off the A52 when you come into Derby, it bears left then joins a couple of other lanes as you head towards the traffic lights. At the set of lights after this one (only about 50 yds) move over towards the right then turn right in front of Westfield/theatre buildings, follow this road (new bus station will be on your right), go across at roundabout then entrance to assembly rooms car park is across the next roundabout.

Check this makes sense on google maps, Derby is a nightmare for one-way traffic.
