Can't be worse than Del Amitri's pessimism-fest 'Don't Come Home Too Soon'

And they'll reference it too, and something about not having Playstations.

The Football Association of Wales is excited to announce that Manic Street Preachers will release an official Wales EURO 2016 song on 20 May 2016.

‘Together Stronger (C’mon Wales)’ celebrates past and present members of the squad and their appearance in a major tournament for the first time in over half a century.
Manics go Oi! Oi!

I'm hoping it'll be as daft and funny as Ghost of Christmas.

Using the latest in zoom based technology, I can exclusively reveal some of the key lyrics contained within the song:

'Give the ball to Bale and he'll do the rest. Just give the ball to Bale and hope for the best. Oh, us Manics we jest 'cos the Welsh are the best, are the best, are the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeest.

We hate the English 'cos the English are cocks. Us Welshies used to suffer their mocks, they said we fucked sheep in our socks. We hate the English 'cos they laughed at our frocks, at our frocks, at our froooooooooooooocks.'

Somewhat more seriously, I see nothing wrong whatsoever with them doing this song for the Welsh footie team. Best of luck to Wales in the summer...except against England

After hearing Nicky talk about the song it sounds like it is not a gimmick but a genuine song. I like the fact the song has a lot of words so I'm thinking something along the lines of "Send Away The Tigers". He did however mention some kind of footy chant in the song...

Brilliant!

And so what if it's going to be a bit cheesy... it's a football anthem! I can't wait to hear it.

And has my own country failed miserably to quality, I might as well hope for Wales

Nicky said that first and foremost it sounds like a Manics song and has lots of guitars and strings.

That's perhaps his first ever description of new material that can be trusted.

So I guess we can expect an electronic stripped down minimalistic song then

[QUOTE=MSPKYE;2656465]Here's an amazing photoset from the recording

These are great, I love them. Think I saw somewhere that Joe Allen said he's always been a big fan so he was delighted with the news. Can't wait! I don't even think Ireland are doing a song.

Cool. Will it just be a download, or will it get a release on vinyl? Guess the video will come out before.

The phasing out (Not the band's fault) or 2CD singles really cost them recent chart positions.
I think the relative failure of the PFAYM singles might have burned them, but for a special Euro 2016 tie-in, it would be good to see something more than a download.
At the very least, the Manics are quids in for every future sport song compilation released from now until the end of the 21st Century at the least!
