Thanks for all replies so far! It's an interesting read! My first MSP was in 2008 so I'm quite new to seeing this band live (altough I've like them since 1998).

I discovered them in 1998 as well! (Although I probably had heard A Design For Life but didn't know who it was by etc).

I think a lot was due to nicky

I think it was on the 10th anniversary of emg dvd he says something along the lines of "I didnt do my usual confirm and cancel, I confirmed and did it" when talking of the emg tour

I think some gigs were cancelled due to the death of Jamess mum.

theyve cancelled 3 or 4 Warsaw gigs for reasons I have no idea. their performance in Kraków, May 2008 was cancelled due to cancellation whole festival.

I think some festivals were cancelled due to Nicky or Sean having babies but Im not 100% certain.

Cool! That's what I had too. My brother bought the LP "This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours" I was very much into Queen at that time but still discovered new bands like the Manics. I probably had heard A Design For Life earlier on as well.

Wasn't there a UK tour in 2001 that was cancelled? Can never remember if it made it to the 'tickets on sale' stage or not!

It blatantly should have though

Thanks! That clears that up then! I knew I wasn't imagining stuff! Haha!

I would have had to wait a further two years to see for the first time, if they had not postponed the original date.

Nope, I was there. James/laryngitis, decision made backstage about 2 hours before stage time.

I remembered you were there, but couldn't remember why this was cancelled.

They had a gig at Hull City Hall in 1996 that was cancelled after support act Catatonia had played, due to the sound system blowing or something. Apparently the whole audience was refunded on their way out. I'm sure they were gutted, but given that it's the worst venue on the planet, it was probably a blessing in disguise.
