This is The Day.

I've never really been too keen on This is The Day, but I've just had one of those mornings where everything's going too slowly, so stuck my ipod on, and it was the first track which came up.

I've now had it on repeat for the last half hour, and I fucking love this song. It is just so uplifting. I've always thought it a bit meh, but it's just clicked, and I. LOVE. THIS. TUNE.

That's all, just thought I'd share it.

OK, now I can move on.

I'll back up the OP then. When I first heard it I thought it was the most unessential Manics song ever, but then somewhere along the line it clicked into place for me. Now, it might still be the most unessential Manics song ever, but it's still a nice unlifting tune

I like it. It's good to hear them doing something upbeat. Makes a nice change.

I'm ambivalent to it really. It was pretty good live, but it's a bit 'meh' on the whole.

I did already admit to thinking it was well and truly 'meh', and maybe even a little bit cack, but today it's just hit the right spot for me. I love it.

* DISCLAIMER - Please note this is just a matter of my opinion, which is worth sod all and will probably change in the near future.

** DISCLAIMER TO DISCLAIMER - Please note that the above disclaimer does not apply to Autumnsong, which is a lyrical crime and my opinion on that matter is, though still worth sod all, never going to change.

I know the video is just a youtube collection, but the song and the video together - that's when it clicks. It's a big fat WOMPH of nostalgia.

Love This Is The Day (the Manics version anyway, not fussed with the original to be honest. Not sure which I would choose between it and Autumnsong, both are fabulously uplifting!

This Is The Day is not the worst song the band has done. which is saying something.

A lot of people seem to refer to it as being "nice". Well the original meaning of the word "nice" basically means "functional" so that's not much of a compliment, is it?

I rather like it. It's not fantastic, but I agree with the comment that it's nice to hear something uplifting from the band. It's definitely grown on me.
