A friend of mine who ended up being one of the directors at our college radio station would routinely play them during his hour at the helm.

Was always wonderful when he'd play "Archives of Pain" one week, and "Autumnsong" the next week. He REALLY tried to turn people onto SATT.

I lived in the USA for six years and up until last year had never heard the Manics played at all. Last year, however, I heard them played in the most surreal environment possible. I was in a Wendys in Greensboro, North Carolina and the usual generic music was being played. Just after I had sat down to eat my meal, however, The Everlasting came on. I had to listen closely to make sure I wasn't hearing things, but to my complete astonishment a Wendys in North Carolina (in 2009) was playing The Everlasting!!

Haha, similar experience to the above... I heard The Everlasting on the overhead at a mall in New York state last fall. Definitely thought I was imagining it for a second and giggled to myself when I realized it was actually playing.
Pretty sure that's the only time I've heard them in public though!

I made sure to play them a bunch at the bar last night... Past that, I have my copy of Gran Turismo 2 somewhere around here...

I heard The Everlasting at a train station! I was alone and I had no one to shout at, so I just looked around wide-eyed. No one else seemed interested.

Seriously! I think the closest I've come to hearing the Manics on the radio was when we saw Matt Pinfield outside the Bowery Ballroom last year and he was talking about Reading '92... Fucker. "Oh, I saw them when Richey was still with them!"

Damn you, Pinfield. DAMN YOU.

...Not that I'd have been old enough to understand any of it.

My Everlasting-in-Whataburger experience was made even funnier by the fact that I had just been out with this guy I was talking to for the first time, and we stopped there on the way home. So he had known me for like three days before being exposed to "Oh... my... god. Is this... HOLY SHIT. THEY'RE PLAYING A FUCKING MANIC STREET PREACHERS SONG OMG DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT A FUCKING HISTORIC OCCASION THIS IS OMG THIS IS SO CRAZY. SHIIIIIT. MANIC STREET PREACHERS."

He was unimpressed, but he was a dickface anyway so whatev
