Nicky's "Singing"

I don't mind his solo album and the odd b-side is fine BUT no more album tracks please!

It's good to have Nicky break up the monotony of JDB's voice on an album. It would be better to have Nina break up the monotony of JDB's voice, but we have to make do with Nicky.

Uh, yes it was actually. And I'm usually quite tolerant. Being a Clash fan as well!

But we've got Mac on this album. Didn't need Nicky! And James' voice is NOT monotonous thank you! (Getting riled tonight. Oooooh! Get me!)

I don't know if the new album has a vocal as good as anything from IKTZ yet.
But I think he has the voice of a (fallen) angel.
In fact, he has the voice of an angle.
Keep singing Nicky!

I voted 'no more' because generally when he sings it is rubbish. I even thought WLW should have been James, given that James was always Richey's voice, it would have seemed more fitting for a song with such an air of finallity to it to have been sung by the voice that served Richey so well while he was with us.

Having said that, I absolutely love TFHBH4E! The trumpet, the groove, the gospel choir! He's fluked a gem once, but please no more...

Don't stop him, equally he doesn't have the voice of an angel as far as I know. Having never heard an angel sing & with a strong doubt that they exist at all.

I love everything Nicky has done, with the exception of Wattsville Blues, but in general I'd prefer him to stick to either making his own stuff or bsides.

SKON has IAN MCCULLOCH from ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN on it! That is why it must be released! Yes I am getting hyper and over-shouting alot! My apologies.

And how did I end up in this thread?

compared to what else i've heard of the album that song is very ...thin. if that makes sense.
it's not very appealling as follow up to WLW, dig the trumpet though.

edit: i voted angel voice, i usually love his ahem..vocals, it's just the song in general this time round.

I just dont see the need for him to sing ont he album, you've got James with one of the best voices in the business just leave the boy to it! Fine for B Sides and solo but just leave Manics albums alone

I agree with this statement. I always feel I've been robbed when Nicky sings on Manics albums.
