What Bands Have The Manics Introduced You To?

If it wasn't for Manics is probably would never have seriously bought albums by Chuck Berry or McCarthy, I would also never really have investigated The Clash past London Calling. I'm currently in the process of deciding whether I like The Enemy or not and I never would have tried listening to them were it not for seeing them support the Manics in Glasgow.

I was curious if anyone else had decided to investigate a band further due to the Manics. This could either be by the Manics covering a song by the band, referring to a band in interviews or the band supporting the Manics.

Catatonia. Though i'd heard a couple of songs it wasn't until i saw them support the Manics in 96 that i started to get into them and realised that Cerys was a star in waiting.

McCarthy. Got into them after hearing the cover of Charles Windsor.

I might have made this up, but I'm sure I remember an interview a while back where the Manics were recommending The Vines, which is why (I think) I started listening to them.

Other than that, Delays, definitely.

Yeah, McCarthy for me too. Possibly The Smiths as well.

I tried really hard to like The Clash because of how much of a nod they get from the Manics but I just couldn't.

Same here! And I'm glad! Also, James introduced me to Vega4, quality!

That puzzles me, because they are the band I would have thought Manics fans would appreciate the most.
