questions? oh dear, if I defeated hands and legs trembling, I would probably start saying how great they are and beg them to stay with me. or a realistic thing - I'd make a small interview about future plans and their history etc. I'd be too shy to ask Nicky what I really want...

1. Is that your pie?
2. What kind of pie is it?
3. Are you going to finish that pie?
4. Can I have some of that pie?
5. Where can I buy more of this pie?

How do you expect him to answer when his mouth is full?

James - 'How does it feel to be a sex symbol?'

(Sorry, had to happen! If only for the typical celeb response of 'Am I? Really? Never noticed!')

"If you had 30 minutes with the Manics..." - Too bad this isn't an appreciation thread!

I don't think I'd ask any questions. I'd just spend the whole half hour shaking their hands and thanking them for helping me get through the last 20 years of my life.

1. How come you don't play Patrick Bateman at every single of your shows, when we all know it is a crime that you're not?

2. Why haven't you yet realised how cool it would've been to play The Intense Humming Of Evil, full band version, straight after James' acoustic mini-set during your gigs?

3. How about the idea to 're-conquer' Europe again, and finally do a full tour there, and not just those open air festival thingies (with bad sound) you insist doing?

4. When will we see the return of the white denims?

5. Could you guys pleeeeease get the rights from BBC, if that is the issue, and release the 21 Dec 1994 Astoria show on a spectacular double DVD with loads of extras?

Well I wouldn't be that relaxed as I'd be thinking throughout the 30 minutes,
"Don't fart. Seriously do not fart..."
I'd get the "Gee, I like your music!" out of the way pretty quickly.
I wouldn't talk about music in general really. I'd ask them about Silent Hill. And try and get them to think about and have cravings for bacon on toast... with brown sauce.
To be honest, if they were to spend 30 minutes with me locked in a room, they all be trying the door going "AAARGGGH!" within two.
I'd ask them if they ever managed to watch Lexx? Bit of a running joke between me and society as everyone always says "No... never saw it?"
I'd ask if they prefered glove puppets or the wooden ones?
Surely they must have seen Adult Swim? I'd ask if they ever fancied becoming the indie Dethklok?
And then I'd have twenty minutes left to go "No. Not seen that film. No. Not read that book. No. I can't drive?" to their questions.
If they had their instruments I could run through some bass tunes on the bass. The bass tunes I wrote of course. I can play Sleepflower really, really slowly.
And then I'd spend the last five minutes going "Not all fans are like me!"
And in the final minute go "Ooh! One more thing!" before being thrown out.

1. James and Nicky - would either of you consider doing a second solo album? Or do you both feel that particularly itch has been scratched?

2. Sean - which notable songs from the band's history have you had the biggest involvement in writing the music to?

3. The Journal For Plague Lovers tour was particularly awesome because you played the entire album from start to finish. With so many bands doing one-off gigs now where they play the entirety of a record from their catalogue, what would it take to get the three of you to play the whole of Generation Terrorists live?

4. How do you genuinely feel about the level of devotion you receive from fans? Does the fan tendency to analyse everything not match your own ethos of questioning everything?

5. Who would win in a fight between Optimus Prime and Robert De Niro?

James, how much do REALLY love the Artisan 30?

I guess that answer would be for appreciation on the Blackstar forum.

Haha, I bet HappyFeet's block list is longer than his cock.

1) Fancy doing a cover of Dancing Queen? I think you could do it really well.

2) Got any spare cassettes hanging around? I'll burn them for you, honest...

3) What's the worst venue you've played at?

4) Which support band has annoyed you most?

5) Can you sign this for me, please? And this... and this.... this too...

What's your favourite joke Sean? this would take up at least 10 minutes
Don't you get bored and wish you could play some different songs at your gigs rather than the hits for the fans?
How scared do you feel that your next move might risk loss of credibility?
Do you prefer tours to family life or are they seen as a necessary chore?
Is the level of fandom shown on places like FD healthy?
