I probably did sing that *shame*. But I'm proud, queues are good fun, at least I've been consistent

I'm gonna ask the big bosses if we can get a screening in the Museum I work in (British Music Experience) as the theme will be great. However, the curater hates MSP & we have nothing of them on display :-( (I've faught for this - 'specially for our Brit Pop window but still a massive no. JDB even offered some stuff I heard but alas, no)

Can't promise anything, but hey I can at least ask!

that would be cool!
When I went to the BME, we did manage to find a little bit on the Manics on one of those TV screen things where you scroll through the timeline. We kept going back to that room to make sure it was left on that!

Before I forget - a few highlights from me....

These might be considered spoilers but if in doubt, don't read this post any further!

----------

- When Sean is out in that field and no one quite knows what is going on, and he suddenly says "It gets me out of the house on a weekend", the camera pans and you see the firing range in full flow. The whole room burst out laughing at that point, just a real David Brent/Alan Partridge moment. He also likened the experience to "meditation".

- Nicky and James during the Autumnsong string argument. Nicky's animated fingers during the playback were hilarious... he thought the strings were totally wrong and didn't think they were needed at that point in the song and showed his feelings by taking the piss out of the string section, one of them mentioned "avant garde" a few times. He also said he would re-write the lyrics....why didn't you, Nicky?!

- Sean going on about Sleepflower and only playing it to shut up the one idiot in the crowd asking it night after night... "Shut the fuck up, this one's called Sleepflower".

- Sean about the history of the group.... enough said

- I can't remember which song it was during the recording of but James went off in a hissy fit for some bizarre reason whilst trying to record some guitars.

- The fan who worked for the venue in Portsmouth or something like that, who had a Northern accent... "My brother had to take me because I was too young"... Interviewer - "what do you remember..." "Lots of lights..lots of people".

If anyone was there for the Q&A, I asked the third question about a possible digital release! (Answer: Has to be cleared by Sony first.....)

I don't remember much else at this point for some reason! There was a lot of live footage from the PPF tour, after talking to Elizabeth afterwards she mentioned a number of songs (non-hits) had been put together for a DVD that was presented to Hall Or Nothing for an official release, which they declined (idiots...) because they thought it wouldn't sell.

The good news is that about 300 hours of footage was filmed, so there is a lot of potential for some superb DVD extras. I hope Elizabeth doesn't mind me sharing this info here.

Funnily enough I was up there last weekend for the Neal Preston masterclass.

I'm sorry, but the Gibson exhibition consists of a few prints stuck to a wall.

The Gibson "play an instrument room" consists of a few abused instruments plugged sans-amp into noisy headphones.

The BME bit itself took me about 15 mins to walk around and I thought the 90s section could have at least used a small nod to MSP. I mean, they got Kate Nash's dress in there ffs!

Oh and the Brian May guitar in the 70s bit is not his 'Red Special' which the caption seems to suggest.

Did I seriously hear Sean say that target shooting is "One of the last working class sports"?

He may as well have been talking about Hare Coursing

That would be awesome! Also, if Elizabeth reads this, I would gladly try & find a Manchester venue for the screening if that was ever possible and also would DJ (for free/ or for donations to the film makers) afterwards at any screening!

Brilliant info, this is the kind of thing I was hoping to read. Thanks for all that Stupid management not being interested in a DVD, don't they have faith in the boys at all?

Sounds like you all had a good time. Really sorry i couldn't make it. Can't wait till it gets released. I did see an earlier version a few years ago, in Cardiff, and am looking forward to seeing the finished article.

Really?!

I was in the shop putting you all in the show, the blonde bint!

Kids abuse the guitars & Gibson won't pull their fingers out of their arses to help us out.

If you read and take part in every thing it takes 1 & a half hours to go round

I can't stand Kate Nash but she works with us :-S

No idea about the Red Special, as far as I'm awear we get what we're given by the artists/friends/V&A.

Surely if there's no Manics we can 'do a Banksy' and add Manics.

Elizabeth: really glad to hear this went so well (bar the usual over-entitled behaviour of some) and I hope you get a break with the right-of-use issues so that you can give the film a full release.

Glad to hear it went well. Sadly I couldn't make it, as I had to work until 1 and getting to the venue for 3 would have been pushing it for me. I have heard that I am in this a bit: there's the clip from the trailer where I look like a trainspotter, naming the date & location Richey vanished. Apparently I was also seen talking about how I became a fan in 1996 on hearing ADFL.

I hope I get to see this film soon.
