I see Lifeblood as the perfect nightime driving album. Something about the reflective nature of the songs when your driving down the motorway in pitch black and towns come and go...love it, my favourite Manics album.

Really?I like the songs and TBTGOG is one of my fav but I usually don't listen to greatest hits.Btw I gave it to my 6 years old daughter because she always asks me to listen to most of the songs that are in that cd especially YLU or Faster.
Speaking of Lifeblood what I can say is that I love it and reminds me of the first winter I spent here.Tbh it hardly snows and you can't say it gets very cold. But that is the only Lifeblood winter connection I can think of.

Yup really. I don't usually buy/listen to greatest hits cds but this one rocks. All those 20 tracks are epic. Especially Door To The River. Neither of Manics' songs sounds like that. That song is special.

Door to the River is one of the most touching songs they have written imo.Love the lyrics and the music gets along perfectly.

I agree with you. It's lyrically and musically perfect. I'm not saying that other Manics songs aren't but this one is a masterpiece.

The winter that it came out was rate fucking cold. It's hard to disconnect it from freezing dark nights and crisp winter mornings now.

Send Away the Tigers is my fall album. The cover looks like it's fall, Indian Summer, AutumnSong, into Winterlovers. I'll probably listen to this on my way home from work today, it's a very fall day here.

THB on release was not like anything I'd ever heard.

I had really got into them through GT and GATS, but didn't really pay much attention to the music press/band gossip at the time, but it was a shock having seen and met them in February 94; I was basically expecting GATS 2, Faster and PCP didn't seem that much different, just better. So I listened and found it all a bit disturbing. Then I read the lyrics and.....
No one wrote songs about anorexia, about the holocaust, no one tore the 20th century apart like that.
