Who talks to pickpockets like they're five!?

Maybe he thought it was a gay bar as some of the girls are tres butch! *runs*

Thieves at the Roundhouse? Lost/stolen phone

I had my mobile phone lifted 08-04-09 at The Forum in Kentish Town was there seeing the Eaglels Of Death Metal.

I am at The Roundhouse Sat night for the Manics. Think I will be leaving the phone at home this time. Or wear some mega tight pants ! lol

That sucks I normally take a small bag to gigs cos I have to cart so much crap around and one thing that's always worked for me is to put a couple of sanitary towels (unused obviously, not quite that enthusiastic about deterring people) in it and use the wrapper from another to put around my phone. Seems to put people off for some reason, even if they can feel a phone in there!

Christ, I'll be more careful next time - I didn't realize it was that bad. I managed to get away with a camera and a phone in my jean pockets. Luckily, as skinnies, they were far to tight even for me to access the pockets with out bending or stretching in some awkward position. Someone did try at my leopard print sunglasses though!

I guess 50 a ticket in Dublin might be too much for the thieving bastards.

I was at least one of the people who had their iPhone nicked (and the one shouting to everyone in the room at the end of the gig to see if they had it - sorry about that, but I had to take my chance there)

Just filed the online crime report

5-6 people I spoke to had the same thing happen, and the amount of torches shining at the floor afterwards should give you an idea of how serious a problem it would seem to be up there.

Otherwise I thought it was a really clean and respectable venue, but I noticed my phone had gone half way through the JFPL set and it nearly ruined my night.

Aha, if you're the guy who made me shout "an iPhone... or a Sony Ericcson!" nice to meet you, even if it was as a result of shit consequences

Yep, that was me! Ah well, I guess that was a silver lining to the cloud of theft!

Hope nobody had any trouble last night. I saw people flashing their phones around, think this is the mistake I made on Thursday.

Got my new SIM and old number back already! Still got all my contacts too and work were alright about the lost phone. Could have been a lot worse.

Luckily I had a work phone on me so I'm getting by on that... but my iPhone had become an extra limb. No music, no gps, no internet. WTF am I supposed to do now?

And - very luckily - I am insured. Thank fuck.

Well, thanks for the warnings. My phone is shit anyway, but I'd still rather hold onto it.

I keep my iPod in a sock (and receive a lot of mockery for it, but that doesn't bother me if it stops it getting stolen!), and put my phone in there for the gig because I figured someone trying to lift that out of my pocket would end up looking like quite an idiot. I got a friend to try and thieve without me noticing and she couldn't, so, despite the potential mockery, I would advise it as a cheap and easy way to prevent thievery!

I thought I felt a hand at said pocket last night, but then a girl was also taking off her jumper near me, so I couldn't tell if it was just her accidentally brushing against me and my newfound paranoia...
