They were here just for a day! Maybe booking something or recording for tv I don't know makes no sense in anyway!

My phone loved As Holy As the Soil. Listening to Rewind the Film on my way home from school, I wanted to drop by a bakery first and I usually pause my music and put my earphones of, naturally, when I enter the shops and interact with people. So I wanted to press pause and this song was playing and my phone refused to stop the music.

#As holy as the phone that wouldn't stop
Played it in the bakery shop
Wear some donuts like ear-phones
I want bread so please let's buy a loaf

As holy as a boulangerie
As holy as accompanying coffee
As holy as those long french baguette sticks
Oh, shall we buy a loaf

So come on
Would it be that hard
Just for once
We could save the world
Just me and you
Doing something true
Even if it's our last sandwiches

As lonely as the darkness between slices
As fragile as pastry treats
As sacred as those buns with the icing on
I want bread so please let's buy a loaf

As beautiful as the chocolate-au-pain
As generous as a plate of scones
As wasted as the time we spent before cake
I want bread so please let's buy a loaf

So come on
Would it be that hard
Just for once
We could save the world
Just me and you
Doing something true
Even if it's our last sandwiches

Oh, I want bread so please let's buy a loaf
Oh, the phone won't stop, I can't let go

Oh, I want bread so please let's buy a loaf
I want bread so please let's buy a loaf

I wonder if the band were ever in two minds which album to include 30 Year War on. They'd mentioned before Rewind The Film came out about it being more of a tender, introspective and reflective album while the next one's supposed to be more angry and spiky. I don't know if that's the intention but I get the impression that 30 Year War could be the one to bridge the gap between the two albums. Not that they've really done that before (William's Last Words to It's Not War? ).

Now that I think about it, I'd love to hear a re-recorded more angry and spiky rocked up version of 30 Year War. I love the version we've got but I can see that working well, a bit like what Smashing Pumpkins did with Disarm on MTV I think it was.

I do sort of hope we'll get a second version on Futurology. Basically, I want the live version. It was just a bit more lively, more vibrant with the extra trumpet, and darker and a bit sinister and menacing with the heavier bass.

Yeah, live it's been brilliant. That's a point though, is Wire acoustic on the album too? Suppose I could check the sleeve notes but it's all the way upstairs.

Speaking of re-recording, I've never looked into it but any idea why the recorded You Love Us for Sony? Don't think it'll have been down to licensing cos all the Heavenly stuff has appeared on Sony releases anyway. Maybe they just fancied it? Ah, I dunno. Take The Skinheads Bowling was a weird one to re-record though.

I thought it was because they couldn't afford the "Lust For Life" rip off drums at the end? Other than that, I don't know. I leave it to more Manics-versed minds than mine!

I'm really not sure but don't think that'd be the case seeing as all the Heavenly stuff has had a Sony release. Heavenly You Love Us is on the Revol CD1.

I think Manobier should be played live because James could play the theremin bit on-stage whilst going woah-ah-oh-ooooh and Nicky can play a floor tom whilst going woah-ah-oh-oh. Would be an amazing show opener.
