To go back to Sleepflower, didn't they open with it in Manchester on the PFAYM tour?

But then we would have to pick from the second half of GATS and I dont find them any more rewarding than Sleepflower

Bit long, but at 1hr 45, it's what you might call a Springsteenesque long set eh?

don't usually do these, but here's a realistic 20 song set, based on non-single tracks they still regularly play / have played live a few times fairly recently (/last decade):

Sorrow 16
No Surface All Feeling
Ready for Drowning
Sleepflower
Yes
Of Walking Abortion
What's My Name
Elvis Impersonator, Blackpool Pier
Enola/Alone
Archives of Pain

Small Black Flowers That Grow In The Sky
Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head
Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You
This Is Yesterday
This Sullen Welsh Heart

1985
Send Away the Tigers
Peeled Apples
It's So Easy
30-Year War

------
of course, the big question is: without Design as an option (or earlier closers such as Motown / YLU, or big favourites such as Motorcycle or Tolerate), what do they end on??

(incidentally, if I could pick one old MSP standard I'd love to see resurrected in the live set, it'd be the What's My Name cover)

Resurrected in 2003 for the brief Lipstick Traces tour… especially at Witness in Ireland!

I forgot about Sorrow 16, that would be incredible!

Do it like my original one at the start of the thread, and close it with Condemned to Rock 'n' Roll.

I ran with that one too. It seems designed to close sets.

With so much material to choose from, wouldn't it still be great if even half of their current setlist included deep cuts only? I mean, don't these guys get tired of playing ADFL, ME and IYTT etc. night after night, tour after bloody tour?

I reckon, if my band had created Motorcycle Emptiness, my fingers would be pissing blood before I got tired of playing that song.
