Brilliant news.

After all this time - please do continue to call on the community for any help required.

Having been fortunate enough to see the film in Shoreditch a couple of years ago - IT MUST BE SEEN.

Is it still relevant? I remember it was mostly Lifeblood or PPF-material, no?

A lot of it focused on the fans and why they love the group and the documentary part was (from memory) about the PPF era and the making of SATT. It's still an important thing, even though it's not current. How many documentaries are about things that capture things in the present moment?

The subject matter may not be relevant so much now but I think it's important that whatever has been documented should be seen by everyone. It's not every day we get to see the band at work in the studio!

The idea is to tell the story of the band and the fans, rather than anyone time, although it does draw on footage and interviews from that era.

Actually, the film is not specifically about the Past, Present, Future era, or the making of Send Away The Tigers. Although it does indeed have concert footage from PPF, and studio scenes from the making of SATT, it is no mere concert film or "making of the album" documentary. It is also a history of the Manics from their beginnings up through the making of Journal For Plague Lovers, and the 2009 American tour.

Here is a promotional synopsis:

Quote:
In 1991, a band from South Wales with the unlikely name of Manic Street Preachers came on to the British music scene proclaiming their ambition to make one album, sell 16 million copies of it, and then split up. All these years, multiple hit records, one missing member, and many controversies later, they are still here. In No Manifesto, this colourful and contentious band faces off with their equally colourful and contentious fans in a verit้ multimedia mash-up experiment that will turn the traditional rock’n’roll documentary upside-down and shake it until all the change falls out of its pockets.

For the making of No Manifesto, the Manics provided unprecedented access. In addition to telling the story of the band’s rise from mouthy punks to international renown, the film takes a fascinating look at the band's creative process and joins them on tour. Also included are interviews given exclusively for this project and candid scenes of the day-to-day lives of the band members.

Featuring footage shot at rehearsals, recording sessions, performances, band members’ homes and a variety of other locations combined with archival materials, plus interviews in which fans provide commentary, lore, criticism and praise, No Manifesto gives a comprehensive look at one of Britain’s most confounding bands.
