While a reissue or reimagining of their 2000 album Know Your Enemy has been previously discussed by Nicky Wire, after being quizzed about its progress, Bradfield laughs before simply replying, “Ask Wire, ask Nicky Wire.”

By my (i.e. setlist.fm's) counting that's the eighth time they've performed it since the National Treasures concerts. All of them at festivals. Wish they'd play it at dedicated Manics shows instead!

So James isn’t a fan of KYE. Is he big on reissues generally?

James and/or Sean are usually in the room when the remastering is being done. The interview makes me think that we haven't got to that stage yet so either KYE20 ain't happening or not happening anytime soon.

Indeed. If it were in the bag and the vinyls in the 9 month queue for production, he may have said so in that interview. Might be KYE25…

Yeah it doesn’t sound close given what James has said there.

However, I wonder if he’s done the remastering and he’s waiting on Nicky who is pissing about with the track listing and artwork / digging out old pictures or something.

To be fair, an interview suggesting something isn't remotely done is normally a sign that we'll get a release announcement later in the month.

Like the time Nicky said that he was having trouble writing new songs, then they announced two albums back to back. That got it done!

Ah, the old Karate Kid trick of "I really shouldn't be competing as I have an injury so this entire contest is HZZABZZAHHH*!" then revealing they have stuff.

*=I've not saw the film but know of it. Not even being paid enough to consider watching it.
