From Q...

"We've won four Brit awards. We've won Ivor Novellos. But people forget so quickly these days."

It's been two decades, Sean. List every Brit Award winner from the past 20 years or get over it.

7 pages text wise no adverts inbetween a couple of full text pages. Three photograph pages including the opening two pages of Manics as they are now with Nicky holding a prop for promotional photoshopped EMG20.

I flicked through the pages and saw 1991 at the top of one pages, so that could be how they filled the feature. Not read a line of text of it properly.
This is all from memory of me looking at it once in a shop.
Grateful enough it isn't sealed up in some plastic crap because that means I'll no doubt be buying it.

Got Q at the train station today. Decent enough read; though at our level of Manics fandom I think we've heard all these stories before. Was a bit weird that John Harris framed the article around the writing of Further Away. I don't think it's as poignant or indicative of the era as he made it out to be. But whatever. Worth a nosey.

Got it today to celebrate job interview for Telephonist at a Taxi firm.
*Son of Stopped-Making Internet Topics About Themselves Since 05-06-2007

It wouldn't be Q Magazine if they didn't have a feature of Elvis Costello in the edition wouldn't it?
And delighted three albums by FLYING SAUCER ATTACK have been reissued!
Despite sharing halcy0nzombie's caps on my Facebook. I haven't read the feature properly.
And is the EMG album Nicky and Sean hold photoshopped in or is it the actual thing?

Nicky Holding the printed Word document with the Enola/Alone lyrics. Could have been printed anytime.

If the blank photo ever made it online it would run as long as the Blackstar thread! (Only won't be as funny)

He certainly had his hair done nicely for that shoot, the um...er.... big girl's blouse-wearing big girl's blouse.

Ah I still love this band, despite their combined age of 741, endless 20-year anniversaries of something-or-other and Sean still moaning about some perceived lack of recognition.

p.s. Sean, if you're reading: Underdogs is still crap.

I thought the same thing... it is very tempting to photoshop it.

Edit: besides, then we'd end up with things like this:

(with thanks to halcy0nzombie for saving me scanning my print copy!)

massive improvement, especially as there is no word such as "rellik" in Humpty Dumpty". I thought that was why Wire looked miserably btw, 20 years on, and the bad spelling is still in the document.

Rellik is not bad spelling, it's art (it's killer backwards. Like Enola/Alone. Like Revol and Lover. Geddit!? Wire is so creative!)

Plus, as always, there's a date wrong in the article. They went to the Chateau in 1995, not 1994 as the article says.

Wasn't it in the EMG10 or THB10 that there was a year wrong as well.

I noticed the date error in the article too. I didn't know in the lyrics that Rellik was killer backwards, I've been educated!

There's a 7 page feature in the latest GQ magazine (June 2016, Leo Di Caprio cover)

There's a brief half-page interview with Nicky and James in this month's Mojo, about EMG20, just after a review of it.
