Bagpuss, dear Bagpuss
Old fat furry cat-puss
Wake up and look at this thing that I bring
Wake up, be bright
Be golden and light
Bagpuss, Oh hear what I sing

Indeed.

My favourite was The Clangers, and that crazy iron chicken.

Aww - gosh, how a name can inspire memories. He had such a distinctive voice - I can hear it in my head.

I think the Clangers were my favourite; I liked Bagpuss and Ivor the Engine too.

Rest in peace lovely man. And thank you.

I liked the Clangers and Bagpuss, but I think Noggin the Nog was his best. The way it's drawn is so fittingly bleak and desolate and I've always liked stuff about Vikings and the like

and when you see the imported crap and pitiful homemade efforts these days...
We really were of another time.

RIP Oliver and thanks for such wonderful memories.

Aw how sad. I used to come home from infant school and sit and watch Ivor the Engine and The Clangers. I bought the music from The Clangers a few years ago. It's nice and soothing almost ambient. I loved the stories when Bagpuss went to sleep. Especially the story about the turtle.

R.I.P. Mr Postgate, you were a wonderfully talented man who brought joy and inspiration to many children
