What do you think of "the Iron Lady", and don't let my avatar sway you :D . Good thing for Britain, or disaster for the world?

As a person, I quite like her. She very old-fashioned and British.
That photo of her in the car with tears in her eyes shows that she was human after all (!)
But over the past few years, Ive come to realise that the general perception of British people (esp in Europe) is that they are snobbish and unfriendly.
Maybe she's a symbol of that... or is that unfair?

Personally, she should be strung up and left somewhere unpleasant.
To be fair, she made a big contribution to our country, just the wrong one.

Oh don't get me started on her! She encompasses everything I hate about modern Britain: smugness, insularity, sexual/social puritanism combined with economic ruthlessness, cynicism and hypocrisy. If anything, her crying as she left/was pushed out of office enflamed me even more. That she could back sleazy worms like Cecil Parkinson (quite happy to cheat on his wife with his secretary then disown the resulting daughter) whilst treating single mothers like shit and suggesting they be put in convents, and then be upset when the same spineless twats dump on her from a height!! Jeeessus!!..... and no I can't be objective about her (or Norman Tebbit for that matter http://smilies.networkessence.net/s/cwm/cwm/angryfire.gif)
I guess the fact that she only showed any human emotion, the day her power was taken away from her, says everything about the her..............wicked, wicked woman.
Im not usually a vindictive person, in fact never, but for that woman i have a bottle of champagne awaiting the day...............
Ding dong, the witch is dead...which old witch? the wicked witch.
Ah, the day that thatcher dies! :D
She's a very strong charachter and it that respect I do like her mucho. Politically I'm in the middle, I neither like her nor dislike her.

I respect her strength, but I hate her.
Completely inhuman(e) and not even worthy of my time.
I don't like wishing death on anyone, but I'm almost making the exception.

Everytime i see her name at the start of a thread or a news story, i start thinking..."at last"....but once again i am disappointed - you bastard! :D
I have a very special bottle that will be opened on the day she shuffles off her mortal coil. Nuff said!

She made the UK a total chaotic place to live in the 1980's. Both her and Major f*ed up the transport system.
During the time she was on pm: miners strikes! big city fights in Bolton, Bristol and Brixton..just like the Bradford riots..but really bad..cos they effected the ethnic minorities.
and
she took away the milk..that was given free at nursery schools  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
A disaster for the world I'd say, even though I was young I know the effect that she had on the area I live. Ironically, she was very sexiest wasn't she, surrounding herself with men in the workplace.

One of the ways I remember Maggie is by the fact that my Politics teacher hates her because she came in on May 3rd 1979 which was his birthday. He threw an egg at her too and lifted up some tory politicians car with some mates hehe. Anyhow myself I think she was probably seen as good in her time but her large presence haunts everyone in a bad way from those who hate her to the tory party who can't get away from her.

I still reckon shes the root cause of why the tories won't be getting elected anytime soon.
Notice how the last two tory Leaders came from behind to win the Tory leadership following her intervention.. Notice how well Vague hague did?
Wanna hazard a guess how well *cough* will do ?
And it's all her fault!
She is, as I have stated before, espcially hated in Ireland.
She did her best to Fuck up the peace process, and she is the Sole Reason that Sinn Féín Became more Popular than the Labour party (SDLP) in the 6 counties.

and leads the tory party.
That woman appears to be largely responsible for the stumbling, schizophrenic individualism and insecurity of modern society. I don't think any other PM's influence has lasted so long on a whole country. Hmm.

She's a complete BITCH. I hate her with a passion. But I reserve my true hatred to the fascist, sexist, racist and homophobic crap that is the Daily Mail.

Actually it is the stumbling, schizophrenic individualism and insecurity of modern society that put her in power. Prime Ministers in this country are elected to represent the people they govern...
Prime Ministers aren't elected by the the people they govern in this country.
How did Silvio Berlusconi get elected just out of interest? I freely admit I know nothing about the Italian Electorial System.

I don't understand. People don't specifically vote for a list of people they wish to be made PM but obviously they know that the leader of the party they vote for will become PM if the party prevails.

The Italian government is made from a coalition of several political parties (right and far-right at the moment). Berlusconi's party only got something like 15% but was allied with a few other parties to reach 50%...

A fair description I think. I'm only young, and so have no experience of her in politics really, but from what my parents and family have told me, I have got a pretty good idea. Is it possible to respect someone and yet hate them intensely at the same time? Well that must be it. But when she dies, everyone in this house will be celebrating. Including me.
She was pretty good for Britain, helped it get to where it is today (much better than the 60s/70s economy)? (feel free to debate that :p) She wasn't too good to the working class but in history she'll go down quite well :D
