I think that this would be an interesting reference point when considering the political views of others in the forum. The test itself is pretty crap but it's as good as you're going to get on 'teh interweb'.

Economic Left/Right: -2.08
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.25

So, I'm a slight-leftist Authoritarian, which sounds about right.

Surely, as an Authoritarian, you should be over-joyed that there aren't many - it makes it easier for you to dominate if you're not arguing with other people who want to be in control as well.

Rubbish, people want control and have opinions of governence regardless of where they stand politically. Anyway, it's easier to control a population who are like-minded as they're less inclined to question policies that they have a natural accordance with.

Yes, it makes sense, it just has very little to do with what I said in the post that you replied to. If you have to add that much stuff to my point to make your reply work, then you're practically replying to something else.

But that was just a very general expansion of my original statement ("Rubbish, people want control and have opinions of governence regardless of where they stand politically") anyway. The first statement isn't dependant on the second, so I don't really see where the problem lies...talking about the political pursuasion of Authoritarians is just a side-issue.

the last time i did one of these i got 'democratic socialist', the longer i've got into this the more libertarian i have become. one question in one of them was do you prefer the US or the USSR - I picked the USSR, if i answered that same question today i would chose the neither option.

there have been strong comparisions between authoritarian communism and fascism, to me freedom of speech is real important - so much of what Orwell has talked abot has come around.no matter what rhetoric and cause people are fighting for their means can be the same and the result similiar - i dont bother to try to define or name my belief system - vegetarian, commie, anarchistic, socialistic, anti-fascist/rascist, anti-modern consummerism.. yet this is being typed on a computer and i work and buy modern things... aus rotten has a song about that..

anyway regardless of beliefs, so many are suffering and destruction is a constant.. i hope one day we can rise above.
